Activities in Malaga in October and November

While this month temperatures are around 13ºC in cities like London or 9ºC in Munich, on the Costa del Sol you can enjoy a warm 20ºC today. A pleasant temperature that helps doing many activities in Malaga in October and November.

According to statistics from the major airlines operating at Malaga airport there is expected significant growth in both domestic and international flights. It would be a good idea to do a review of interesting activities you can do during these months.

The first rains of the autumn and the pleasant temperature invite us to meet with the natural and rural environment of the province, feel like trying?

If you are wondering about climate in Autumn, you can check my other post to know what is the average temperature in October, November and December in Malaga.

Autumn activities when visiting Malaga in October

While for an European going to the beach while at Malaga in October or November still a good choice, the Spanish might want to try the sunny days with some rural or monumental tourism.

My older blog post about some of the best places you can visit in Malaga during the year is a clear example of the wide variety of choices in the province, but there are many more.

Nature lovers can enjoy the magnificent Natural Parks of the province when visiting Malaga in October. Temperature is perfect for walking outdoors and the few raining during these months will help for vegetation to take a showy colour.

What if you visit Malaga in November?

During the month of November in Malaga temperatures can drop especially at night. During the daytime the temperatures are usually pleasant and you can enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city or visit some of the inland villages.

If you want to do some hiking routes we recommend that you are aware of the weather. It is best to avoid the hiking tour if there is a chance of rain on that day, something that could happen when you visit Malaga in November.

Sierra de las Cabras and Torcal de Antequera

In this environment you can appreciate the colourful landscape I wrote about in the paragraph above. The autumn raining paints the mountain with beautiful colours for the enjoyment of those who fancy walking on any of its paths.

Don’t know how to get there? https://goo.gl/maps/zv6s17MyMuP2

El Torcal is one of those places which will amaze you, but there are many other places to visit in Antequera.torcal-antequera

Ronda

Ronda in my opinion is a must visit, the landscape view from there is simply amazing and you need to see it in person.

Recently I meet a French couple walking back to the airport for a departure check-in. It was their first visit to Malaga and they were lost so asked me for helping. We had a little conversation about their visit feelings while walking to the airport. They indeed loved Malaga and visited many places…but they missed Ronda!

Don’t make the same mistake as them and do not forget to visit the ‘Puente Nuevo’ for taking some of the representative images of this municipality. From there and from the viewpoint near the park you will enjoy amazing views.

Caminito del Rey (King’s Path)

I think the best season to enjoy visiting and walking Caminito del Rey is during the Autumn or Spring. You must book online and it’s worth your time. Take in consideration that those who fear the heights may have to think twice about visiting it.

Hiking and rural tourism

Autumn is without any doubt the perfect season to discover the interior of the province. Unique places to visit and recommended also to the own locals who can do it on any weekend.

You can go to visit the ‘Cueva del Gato’, ‘Treasure Cave’, ‘Nerja Caves’. Each of those caves have their own story and legends, including hidden treasures.

If what you like is walking and exercising, some paths like the one from Benaojan to Jimera de Libar will gift you a little of magic for your memories.

In Facebook some groups organize hiking routes from many of the white villages in Malaga. If you don’t have someone to go with and it might be a good choice.

One active group I found is:

We also have some posts where recommending easy hiking routes in Malaga, you could also be interested in having a thermal bath now the temperature is lower than in summer, don’t you?

Sierra de las Nieves

What is better than a video to show you what Sierra de las Nieves has to offer during the year.

Autumn festivals and celebrations

There is a festival every month in Malaga at any of its villages, you want to know them?

Beginning of October is the Fuengirola Fair, a festivity week.

Transfers from the airport

Middle of October is the San Pedro de Alcantara fair, next to Marbella.

First of November is the popular festivity ‘Dia del Toston’ in Marbella

Halloween is celebrated in Malaga province with many events, you can check further about this festivity in my other post.

You can check in other post about Malaga festivals in October.
