Enjoy animated shows through the streets with oriental melodies and dances, fights of the Arab army, juggling with fire or knives and witches that predict the future. All this under the moonlight and candles that will illuminate the entire route with spice stands, handicrafts, decoration, food, henna and tea shops.<\/p>\n<p>There are workshops, parades, belly dancing performances, Falconry exhibitions, Arab costume competition and many other activities that are waiting for you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the Bella Jarifa?<\/strong> The inspiration for this event comes from the old story &#8220;Abindarr\u00e1ez y la Bella Jarifa&#8221;, a romance that can be read for free in Spanish <a href=\"https:\/\/www.juntadeandalucia.es\/educacion\/portals\/delegate\/content\/1216d7fc-bbb2-4030-8bc3-bfe10434740c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Activities programme<\/h2>\n<p>The activities of the Noche de la Bella Jarifa (Night of the Beautiful Jarifa) are aimed at audiences of all ages:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.malagaweb.com\/espanol\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/bella-jarifa-vier-sabado.jpg\" itemprop=\"contentUrl\"  data-gallery title=\"Bella Jarifa Nights Festival in Cartama - September 2019\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7510 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.malagaweb.com\/espanol\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/bella-jarifa-vier-sabado-600x320.jpg\" alt=\"Programa del viernes y del s\u00e1bado de la Bella Jarifa\" width=\"600\" height=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Friday 27 September<\/h3>\n<p>The first night of the Bella Jarifa begins at 8 pm with an archaeologist to learn about the Muslim past of Carthima (Cartama). This activity begins in the Plaza de la Iglesia.<\/p>\n<p>The courtyard of the Town Hall of Cartama will host a Moorish restaurant from 8 pm onwards.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8.00 pm &#8211; Opening of the Arab souk.<\/li>\n<li>8.30 pm &#8211; Thematic parade with oriental dances, camels and jugglers.<\/li>\n<li>9pm &#8211; 0.00am &#8211; Medieval children&#8217;s corner in Pilar Alto.<\/li>\n<li>9.30 pm &#8211; Musical performance at Plaza de la Iglesia.<\/li>\n<li>10.30 pm &#8211; Oriental dances at Plaza de la Iglesia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Saturday 28 September<\/h3>\n<p>Saturday begins with the new inauguration of the Minerals Fair in Santo Cristo from 10.00 am. (<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/RKXTsNmuET12\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Map<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant in front of the Town Hall will open from 01.00 pm.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>12.00 am &#8211; Opening of the Arabic souk.<\/li>\n<li>3 pm &#8211; Opening of the Jarifa tea shop at the Courtyard of the Town Hall.<\/li>\n<li>4.00 pm &#8211; Cooking workshop where you will learn to cook authentic Moroccan couscous.<\/li>\n<li>4 pm to midnight &#8211; Children&#8217;s Medieval Corner at Pilar Alto.<\/li>\n<li>6 pm &#8211; Puppet theatre in the Plaza de la Iglesia.<\/li>\n<li>8.30 pm &#8211; Themed parades about the Romance of the Beautiful Jarifa with oriental dances, camels and medieval entertainment.<\/li>\n<li>9.00 pm to 11.00 pm &#8211; Guided visit to the Water Tower in Cartama Castle from the ascent to the Hermitage.
