There are good reasons to discover some spectacular places few kilometres off the coast of Malaga. Today we present Alora, situated 40 kilometres from Malaga and 53 kilometres from <a title=\"Marbella\" href=\"https:\/\/www.malagaweb.com\/marbella.php\">Marbella<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Visiting Alora<\/h2>\n<p>The road trip is a visual pleasure; through rolling hills that are now stained green and orchards of fruit and vegetables we approach Alora, which greets us from afar with a breathtaking view of the Moorish castle on a impressive hill that rises about 100 feet above the river.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4348\" src=\"https:\/\/www.malagaweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/alora-castle.jpg\" alt=\"Alora medieval castle\" width=\"600\" height=\"272\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.malagaweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/alora-castle.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.malagaweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/alora-castle-300x136.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.malagaweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/alora-castle-500x227.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Activities in Alora<\/h3>\n<p>In this town took place the past weekend on February 18 and 19, the first Andalusian Traditional Cheese Market. As its name suggests, in this market you could buy artisan cheeses produced in Andalusia of a total of 15 dairies that also offer other dairy products. During these two days there were also workshops and tastings. The venue was the <em>Mirador de la Cancula<\/em> in Cervantes Avenue and it started at 11 am; on Saturday until 8 pm and on Sunday until 3 pm.<\/p>\n<p>The green Guadalhorce valley is flanked on the north by high mountains of the Sierra de Huma where is situated the spectacular <a href=\"https:\/\/www.malagaweb.com\/andalucia\/natural-parks\/desfiladero-gaitanes\/\">Gorge of the Gaitanes<\/a>, very popular among hikers and climbers.
