The first rains and the smell of roasted chestnuts in Malaga announce the beginning of autumn in the Costa del Sol. In many corners appear from November to January handmade wooden posts where expert hands are roasting chestnuts. It is a delicious dish to eat while strolling down the street or sitting in any square and watch people passing by.<\/p>\n
The only secret of roasted chestnuts is the quality of the fruit. We only need to make a cut so it does not explode in the heat, place them in a pan and put them over coals of charcoal. Roasted chestnuts don\u00b4t have no more ingredients than themselves … and they are delicious.<\/p>\n
There are emblematic and traditional stalls in the Plaza de la Merced and the Alameda Principal, but you can find them all over the city.<\/p>\n
In the province of Malaga we can find chestnut trees in the Sierra de las Nieves and Genal Valley, which mature their fruit at this time of the year.
