Costa del Sol

When going from Malaga airport to Torremolinos using a car or a bus, you may know that the road is the National 340, also known as Autovia del Mediterraneo. Torremolinos is just 8km west from the city centre, and 3km west from Malaga International airport.

How to get to Torremolinos from Malaga airport

If you own a car, or you hire a car at Malaga airport, this planning route may be useful for you. You would find signs along all the way showing you which direction to take, and is not difficult at all to arrive. Once in Torremolinos you may look for other destinations, like La Carihuela, Bajondillo and Playamar located all of them next to the beach.

Bus from Malaga airport to Torremolinos

Bus from Malaga to Torremolinos stop outside the airport. It should not be too difficult to find if you ask someone around the airport but the bus stop is about 15 minutes far from Malaga airport arrivals. There are more buses from Malaga to other destinations like Churriana, Alhaurin so you would need to rise your hand to call the bus driver attention once you see the bus number is the one you want to take.

Bus from Malaga to Torremolinos number is 110 and the bus from Malaga to Fuengirola is the 120. Remember to keep your tickets until you arrive, if the bus get broken and you have to transfer to another bus, you would need to show your ticket.

Bus service from Malaga to Torremolinos is actually very poor and irregular, we don´t recommend taking the bus line 110 to Torremolinos. If you still want to get by bus to Torremolinos, below is the walking route from the airport to the bus stop which you will find below the bridge. There should be a bus every 30 minutes or every hour, it is very unpredictable.

Train from Malaga airport to Torremolinos

Trains to Malaga and trains to Torremolinos stop at the same platform and voice announcements are made in English and Spanish in advance. Train to Torremolinos from Malaga airport takes up to 10 minutes to arrive, each stop is also announced in both languages and shown in writing above the train doors. If its your first time taking the train remember to pay attention.

Tickets have to be bought before taking the train, buy them from a machine at the entrance in your own language. This machine accepts notes and coins; if you don´t buy the tiket is possible you have to pay a penalty, that is eight times the value of the longest trayect.
