tourist tips

Malaga Tapas are very popular for a snack and are eaten at any time during the day, although especially during Merienda (tea time: 4 - 5 pm). Some Spanish food is heavy on garlic and light on vegetables as a side or accompaniment. Salads are especially good as a replacement.
Fresh fish is excellent and a good value. Chanquetes - very small, deep-fried baby fish. The eating of these fish has been outlawed by the European Community but they are still available in many restaurants. Continued demand in restaurants means continued fishing, which will have catastrophic effects on the Mediterranean Sea. Please be responsible.
