If you are going to Mijas by car the road you have to take is the A-7 (Autovía del Mediterráneo). Mijas is just 30,9km west from the city centre, and 22,7km west from Malaga airport.
The planning route below will take you to Mijas from Malaga airport (white village), later you can go from there to Mijas Costa which is just 17,7km south from the white village.
If you prefer to go directly from Malaga airport to La Cala de Mijas , the distance is 42,4km west from Malaga airport, taking aproximately about 37 minutes by car depending of the traffic.

There is no direct bus link from Malaga airport to Mijas; you may need to go to Fuengirola or Malaga, and then link from there with another bus to Mijas.

Remember to keep your tickets until you arrive, if the bus get broken and you have to transfer to another bus, you would need to show your ticket.
There is no train link to Mijas, but you can use it to arrive Fuengirola, and take from there a bus to Mijas.
Tickets have to be bought before taking the train, buy them from a machine at the entrance in your own language. This machine accepts notes and coins; if you don´t buy the tiket is possible you have to pay a penalty, that is eight times the value of the longest trayect.
You can hire a car in Malaga and drive to Mijas, it is the most recommended option because of the distance.
