GOLDCAR will try very hard to RIP YOU OFF

Post by juggler123 » Wed Oct 10, 2012 11:36 pm

We rented a car for 4 days using a third party website, which didn't give a clear explanation of the rental conditions, in particular in what refers to insurance coverage and fuel.

When collecting the car it turned out that we had to pay 107 euros for a full tank (even if we knew for sure we were not going to use even half of it) and were informed that the insurance waiver was 900 euros and otherwise we would have to take an overpriced extra insurance for 60 euro (for which they tried to make a very good case by trying to scare us to death about terrible things that happened to previous customers and showing us pictures etc). Luckily we didn't make even the tiniest scratch to the car, but when collecting the car we were told that we were not allowed to claim any money back from the remaining fuel. Which essentially means we gave Goldcar a present of ~70 euro worth of fuel. We were treated horribly by the staff who were prepotent and rude.

We also tried to contact them by phone. Be warned: it is really difficult to get anybody on the phone. We did manage, but only to speak to a very unprofessional person, who picked up the phone saying 'yes?' in an angry tone.
Avoid them if you can.

Goldcar in Malaga - beware !

Post by janlil » Wed Oct 16, 2013 10:36 pm

Rented a car in Malaga from Goldcar through Holiday Autos. When we returned the car the staff from Goldcar stole our iPad that was in the car. When we after a short while discovered the theft the staff from Goldcar could not "find" the iPad!

Hi Janil,
Are you sure you left it in the car? Happened to me once I forgot something in the hotel and found it once into the plane.

Ask them to check the cameras if they have...hope you can find it.

At Your peril :RIP OFF
GOLDCAR MALAGA AIRPORT ES
Contrato 16176788 Client Code 14571149
Car hire 22/03/2019 - 03/04/2019

Scammed by this company the cost of car 6.71 euro plus fuel for cc class for the economy Seat Ibiza 1.0 TSI as per my reservation from GOLDCAR WITH ICLUDED IN BOOKING
Unlimited mileage
Car passenger insurance
Partial damage cover with excess (CDW)
Third party liability insurance
Vat ,local taxes (21%)
Additional Driver

Remember the contract is in SPANISH so you have to trust the Goldcar representative Big Mistake .....
As he ripped me off and fraudulently removed £227 from my credit card without my knowledge , I did queries the amount he said Deposit .NO MENTION OF EXCESS INSURANCE SUPER COVER ETC .
He also said bring back vehicle empty fuel tank as I did not have flex fuel he said another lie ,once I spoke with GOLDCAR Malaga head office .

I have contacted them reference this and the replied waffled
On about private insurance absolutely rubbish .

I have contacted the ECRCS but Goldcar not members informed to contact ECC to which I have contacted .I also
Contacted my credit card provider who are also investigating they informed me they have had hundreds of complaints ref: Goldcar...I have now written reviews myself and will continue until more people are aware of GOLDCAR SCAMS

Have also taken this to Trip Advisor ref: reviews
Also trust pilot more reviews
Also face book more reviews
Also complaints Board reviews
Also savvy traveller reviews
Also Lonely Planet reviews

Now I will take to the UK fraud and Spanish authorities

How this illegal continuing practice is still ongoing by the dishonest GOLDCAR staff representatives at the Malaga Airport Desk ,is beyond my understanding and renders one speechless.

Incidentally I have hired many car from Malaga airport with other companies without problem they ask you clearly do you require the extra insurance I have always said NO and then they add deposit holding charge to your card and I have always returned my vehicles with a full fuel tank as stated.

Trust ,Integrity and Honesty are the key words here being in Spain and contract in Spanish but Sadly GOLDCAR STAFF
are lacking in ANY of the above and the level of Deception
Is Disgraceful .....this raises serious questions .
