Do I need snow chains for Sierra Nevada?

Post by andygb » Wed Mar 05, 2014 2:22 pm

Hi
I am going to hire a car from Malaga to Serria Nevada 11/3/14. Do I need snow chains?
Alternatively is it just as cheap to hire a taxi/ transfer?

Hello and welcome Andy,
About the chains for getting to Sierra Nevada, it depends on the weather...I have some friends who went there the past weekend and did not have to use them. My guess is that you will not need to use snow chains if you come in March.

About the price, you just have to calculate the rental price plus the 3 hours of fuel for getting there...I would definitely hire a car in Malaga instead using a transfer to Granada.

You are welcome!

Drive carefully as Granada is famous for its hidden radars and fines...

Here you are a blog about fines with a rental car.
