Spain is since many years one of the most popular tourist destinations. This beautiful country has not just a very good weather and fantastic beaches, but also has a great wealth of historical monuments and art.

The country definitely offers something for everyone, no matter whether it is beach, culture, nature or night life, if you are traveling alone, with a group of friends or family. Below you find two of Spain´s Top destinations you can take into account when planning your next trip to sunny Spain.

Barcelona

The cosmopolitan, mediterranean city of Barcelona is a unique place to visit. Being the capital of Catalonia in northern Spain, this lively city is home to a large number of outstanding monuments and museums, featuring an enchanting old city and is furthermore home to the unique architecture of Gaudi, as for instance his most dazzling unfinished Cathedral of La Sagrada Famila.

The people from Catalonia are taking a lot of pride in the region, which borders in the north with France. They are as well speaking a different dialect, known as Catalan. When visiting Barcelona, you should sample the traditional Catalan cuisine.

A typical feature of Barcelona is blending both tradition and modern flair, with a large offer of street cafes, art galleries and many interesting cultural spots hidden in the different districts. One of the more popular spots is for instance “La Rambla”, a charming pedestrian area situated close to the sea promenade with restaurants, market stalls and street performers. Close by is situated the large city park Montjuic.

Marbella

In charming Andalusia, nearly one thousand kilometres south from Barcelona is situated Marbella, located in the beautiful surrounding of the Sierra Blanca Mountain range and the blue Mediterranean Sea. The former fishing village combines Andalusian Charm, which still can be found in the cities´ old quarter, with the glittering world of Luxury Tourism of the world famous marina of Puerto Banus, where are moored some of the most expensive yachts of the world.

Although Marbella is truly international, as well it is truly Andalusian. Andalusia is among many other things as well home to the Tapas, popular cold or warm snacks, which have developed into a great way of sampling the fantastic Andalusian cuisine. Enjoy yourself with a good glass of wine or a nice fresh beer and the culinary delights the land has to offer.

Spain is very well connected through many international airports, which are served as well by a wide range of low-cost airlines. Thus, you should have no problem to find a good offer for these two cities or any other of the many interesting places in Spain.

Once landed, we recommend a car hire in Spain for moving around independently. This is by far the best transportation method, since public transport in Spain is in many cases not very recommendable.
