1The Sierra Nevada ski resort opened the day 27 of December, with 12 kilometers of tracks, having had to close five days this past week as a result of strong gusts of wind recorded.
The five tracks from the beginner area and several in Borreguiles, like Zorro, the Peseta, Poppy and Pena, are already enabled for skiing, snow quality with a hard and thicknesses up to 150 cm, as reported Efe Cetursa sources, the public company that manages the Sierra Nevada ski station.
As time passes it has been possible to open more skiing tracks, reaching right now up to 14 km, and since the day before yesterday evening the snow cannons are working in the production of snow on the track Maribel and in the river, which may be able to be opened late in the morning, once they have fixed the last part of the track. This morning began with 63 hectares for skiing, with a drop of nearly 500 meters, which could reach 800 if it gets to open the river, and are operating the chairlift Veleta, Emile Allais, the Sabika and Parador.
