Mijas fair

Local festivities in Mijas begin the Sunday 4th in September. From then there will be events and performances for the entire week.

On the first day of the fair, when night comes, the fair lighting will be switched on. The next day the daytime fair officially begins.

In 2017 the fair took place from 6th to 10th September.

Ajoblanco Festival in Almachar on the first Saturday of September

Gastronomic event celebrated since 1968 and of free entrance with numerous activities.

The festival includes of course ajoblanco (typical dish made of almonds juice), a gastronomic route and numerous events for all audiences.

Olive Fair in Alozaina

Between 12 and 15 September is celebrated the collection of the olive in the municipality of Alozaina Malaga. It is celebrated with beer, pork and cheese from the village.

The fair was first held in 1929 and offers visitors an opportunity to learn more about the traditional harvesting of green olives in Alozaina.

Ronda fair and ‘Goyesca Bullfighting’

The traditional fair in Ronda known as the Pedro Romero Fair is held between the last week of August and early September.

In 2017 it took place from August 28th to September 3rd.

It is an event declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest of Andalusia and it  highlights especially the traditional’ Corrida Goyesca’ in the Plaza de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Ronda.

Grape Harvest Festival in Manilva

The first weekend of September from Friday to Sunday you have an appointment in Manilva. There will be wine tasting and other events such as a flamenco festival and the Virgen de los Dolores parade.

Luna Mora de Guaro (Moorish Moon Festival) in September

For two days (usually on the second weekend of September) this white village is a meeting point for the medieval Andalusian culture with the light of 25.000 candles in the streets.

During the Luna Mora festival there are performances, craft stalls and gastronomy stalls. Highly recommended I enjoyed much the food in my last visit.


Anchovie Day in Rincón de la Victoria

The last weekend of September there are free anchovies tasting at Rincon de la Victoria.

The event begins at 12.30 pm next to the promenade and close to the old train station.

World Tourist Day

The World Tourist Day is on Tuesday 27th September and there are events to welcome the tourists visiting Malaga.

Depending on the municipality where you are there will be different events. In Mijas, the main square had in the past events flamenco performances and a free sweet wine tasting.

Other municipalities offer free food tasting.


Raisin day in El Borge

They celebrate the Raisin Day the third Sunday in September.

Typical dancing performances, wine, cold meat and typical products from the area.

Istan Fair and San Miguel Pilgrimage

Istan fair and San Miguel pilgrimage are celebrated the first Sunday before the 29th in September and lasts 5 days.

Fair of Santo Cristo in Casares

On the 14th, 15th and 16th of September the Santo Cristo Fair takes place in Casares, traditionally celebrated to commemorate the end of the harvesting season in the summer.

The festival features processions, music, dances and fireworks.

Almond Day in Almogía

During this day the aim is to promote local products and traditions in the farming of almonds.

There are activities, performances and desserts made with almonds.

Torremolinos fair and San Miguel Pilgrimage

The Torremolinos Fair lasts 5 days and ends on October 1st. On the Sunday before that date, the San Miguel pilgrimage takes place to Los Mantantiales, a pine forest located on the outskirts of the municipality.

Day fair features dancing, music and other events at the main squares and the centre of Torremolinos.


At night, the Fair moves to the fairgrounds with booths, musical shows, mechanical attractions and lots of fun.

International Folklore Festival in Marbella from April 20 to 22

Marbella folklore festivalThis weekend from April 20 to 22 in Marbella takes place the second edition of the International Folklore Festival Europealia 2012.

During this event, visitors and residents of Marbella can enjoy an international folk meeting of different nationalities and cultures living in the city. There will be parades, exhibitions and dance performances at the Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions. Participating countries are Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Egypt, Scotland, Philippines, Mexico, Paraguay, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Senegal, Venezuela and of course many local associations.

If you fancy a colorful and good time during this weekend in Marbella, here you have the program:
On Saturday, from 11 am there will be folklore on the main stage in Avenida de Mar and at 6 pm there will be a parade of all participating groups passing through the street Ricardo Soriano to the Palace of Congresses. At 8 pm the International Festival takes place at the Trade Fair and Congress centre, with folk performances. The entrance is free. On Sunday, from 11.30 am there is folklore on the stage in the Avenida del Mar.

Luna Mora Festival in Guaro (Marbella)- September 9, 10, 16 and 17

This year the small town of Guaro next to Marbella celebrates its 15th edition of the Luna Mora Festival. For two weekends, the town is transformed into a unique environment in which to enjoy music and a magical atmosphere:

In light of 20,000 candles downtown streets and the old town of this town in the natural park of Sierra de las Nieves (Marbella) become the meeting point of the rich heritage of Andalusian culture and Muslim, Christian and Sephardic worlds.

Imagine the narrow, winding streets of a typical white village, lit by the light of the full moon and thousands of candles, relocated to the Middle Ages, as if it were a big bazaar.

Sun Coast Festival Torremolinos, September 11

Aqualand Torremolinos will again be the setting where literally to immerse oneself in the “Best House Festival of Andalucia.” This water park has already witnessed twice the meeting of thousands of House music fans in the liquid element: To the Sun Coast last year came more than 4,000 people; an awesome festival, unique in Andalucia, which combines the best show of image, sound and fun.

Update: For all fans of this event: Today has been announced that the Sun Coast festival has been banned by the mayor of Torremolinos, citing “security reasons” and complaints from neighbors.

This time, the event to say goodbye to the summer will take place on Sunday, September 11 beginning at 10 am, eleven hours non-stop, until 9 pm.

Up to 2 pm you can enjoy all the facilities of Aquapark like pools, slides and so on. The dance floor will be again the wave pool, becoming a sea of people dancing and splashing to the rhythm of the best DJs.

Tom Jones live in Marbella, August 18

This summer we have the opportunity to enjoy some excellent concerts in the Costa del Sol, with music for all tastes, with great artists, both national and international.

The legendary singer Tom Jones comes to Marbella on August 18 with his acclaimed tour presenting his latest album “Praise & Blame” and as well performing his classical pieces. The artist known as the godfather of modern Soul is a living legend at his now 71 years.

The concert venue is the Tennis Club Hotel Puente Romano in Marbella. Doors open at 8 pm, concert starts at 10 pm. Tickets are available from 90 Euros at El Corte Ingles and Ticketmaster.

Live Festival in Marbella on July 23

This year, the beach El Pinillo in Marbella will set the stage for the third edition of Life Festival, an itinerant outdoor dance floor where you can dance until dawn.

Only 50 meters from the sea will take place during this night a meeting with top DJs like John Shelvin, Ruben Moran, Fonsi Nieto, Rebeka Brown, Juanjo Martin and Superlush Dj’s in the concert hall in Playa del Pinillo (next to Marbella archway) with a capacity of more than 8,000 people. Are you ready for a night like this?

Mijas Internacional Festival June 10 to 12

The charming white village of Mijas Pueblo, located about 400 meters above sea level a few kilometers from the Costa del Sol and Fuengirola, will celebrate this weekend, from 10th to 12th of June, the International Festival.

Mijas pioneered the organization of such meetings and there are many people each year who participate in the Festival Internacional de Mijas, a multicultural event that is being celebrated in the town since more than two decades and this year has the participation of more than twenty countries: Senegal, Korea, Brazil, Bolivia, Morocco, Mexico, Argentina, Germany, Bulgaria, Cuba and Vietnam, among others. New this year will incorporate Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova and Korea. And of course, attendees also can learn about the most attractive features of Spain in general and Mijas in particular.

The festival will take place in the most emblematic spots of Mijas Pueblo: There are three scenarios with ethnic and folk performances in the Plaza de la Constitución, the Plaza Virgen de la Peña and gardens of La Muralla, where there will also be stands offering during the three days tastings and crafts typical of each country.

For children there will be participatory workshops. A mini train will travel constantly all three places to invite the public to participate in the party. There will be a free parking area at the entrance to Mijas Pueblo. Free buses will depart from there to the centre of the village from 1 pm to 12 o´clock midnight on Saturday, and Sunday from 1 pm until 9 pm.

In Mijas live together more than a hundred nationalities and this festival is only a reflection of the multiculturalism that characterizes this municipality of Malaga.

Festival Lunas de Gibralfaro in Malaga

This year a new festival is born in Malaga during the summer months, in the incomparable setting of the Moorish castle Gibralfaro. The Festival de Lunas de Gibralfaro is an original and new festival which aims to promote and expand the culture in Malaga: Music and movies from different geographic origins and art converge in Malaga, promoting cultural diversity.

The festival is divided into three music cycles that take place in the castle Gibralfaro: Jazz Cinema, Made in India, and Enclave de Luna, as well as film screenings at Albeniz Cinema.

Jazzcinema from 2 to 4 June: In addition to the concerts taking place in the Moorish stronghold overlooking Malaga city is taking place a cycle of film and jazz, with unpublished documentary films in Spain.

World Music: Made in India, from 24 to 30 June: This cycle brings closer Indian culture with three concerts of great richness and variety, as well as a broad cycle of Indian cinema with some of the most representative audiovisual works.

Classical Music: Enclave de la Luna, from 1 to 3 September: Masterpieces of classical music in modern times, along with an audiovisual sample showing the bond between cinema and music.

Following is the program of concerts and projections for each cycle. All screenings take place in the cinema Albeniz at 7 pm and all performances take place at the castle Gibralfaro at 10 pm.

Sun Coast Festival 2011 in Torremolinos Water Park

In the water park Aqualand Torremolinos will be celebrated a great water party for the opening of the season with the best House Festival of Andalucia.

The SunCoastFestival opens its doors on May 15 from 10 am to 9 pm. The last festival took place last September until the maximum capacity with 4,000 people enjoying the best house music in this unique environment.
