Updated: 2011-02-04 08:52:01
From Easter onwards there will be available a unique taxi in Malaga, the Water Taxi Malaga-Marbella. This pioneering initiative in Spain and the Mediterranean was devised by a group of entrepreneurs from Malaga to create an alternative to travel along the resorts of the Costa del Sol.
The vessels will have capacity for 12 passengers and the service will connect Malaga to Marbella in just 45 minutes, a very competitive time considering that the Airport shuttle bus from Malaga to Marbella also takes 40 minutes.
These water taxis called "Aqua Taxi" are based in the port of Malaga, between the piers 1 and 2, a public use area of the port and an obligatory stop for cruise passengers. Other docking ports will Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Marbella and in a near future Gibraltar and Nerja.

How to rent a car without a credit card
Updated: 2010-07-30 12:46:57
Here we provide some information for readers who are considering to rent a car in Malaga during their vacations. In general, we can say that nowadays it is very simple to use the services of car rental companies and to make a reservation online in an easy and comfortable way. It is also easy to book the chosen car and you can even select the model that you like, subject to availability, in which case and not indicating otherwise we allocate a vehicle equivalent to the model. Many customers, however, often feel a bit reluctant at the time of having to pay a certain amount of money to confirm the booking of their car by using the credit card and paying weeks or months in advance ... which may cause some concern.
Payment by credit card is quite common in big companies like Hertz, Avis, Thrifty and many others, and the excuse or reason is to cover the expenses in case of non-compliance of the reservation by the client. However, although many might be thrown back by the idea, the online payment is safe and thousands of people use it daily through Internet.
Nevertheless there are as well other companies at Malaga airport who have devised another approach when making reservations and they just ask in the form of the rental car, your flight number and a few personal details to help identify you on arrival and pick you up if necessary with a private taxi or minibus; but remember that later you have to finish completing your reservation, which in most cases is simple and quick on the counter just before you get your rental car. Remember that you need a credit card to take the vehicle, which is necessary for any car rental company.

These completions will permit an improvement in the number of the suburban train services of the lines C1 and C2. Travel time will be reduced and the user comfort will be increased by implementing new technologies in the rail facilities and train stations and as well by increasing the accessibility to the services.
From now on travelers have easy access from Malaga airport and Malaga railway station to the historic centre of the capital, the city Park and the port of Malaga.
