Monastery Confectionery Fair in Torremolinos from December 2 to 6

Each year is celebrated the traditional Monastery Confectionary Fair in December at the Congress centre Palacio de Congresos. From December 2nd to 6th visitors have the opportunity to buy Christmas sweets, pastry and confectionery made in the 36 cloistered convents of Andalusia.
In total there are over 170 specialties where meet typical Christmas tradition, natural products, high quality and recipes which in many cases have passed generations during hundreds of years of elaboration in the old fashioned way. However, the nuns also intended to meet with new products and products with less sugar or sugar free products for diabetics. With the Monastery Confectionary the nuns cover the cost of maintenance of the monasteries of which many have great historical and artistic value.
The Monastery Confectionary Fair is aimed at all public and with free entrance; the exhibitors are staffed by volunteers. The Fair will be open daily from December 2 to 6, 2011, from 11am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 8 pm in the Palacio de Congresos in Torremolinos. The fair closes with a children's show.
