The andean group Alturas presents America Canta at Cervantes Theatre in Malaga

The performance will take place on 23rd March at Teatro Cervantes de Málaga at 20:00. The programme is a selection of the most important Latin-American works of all times including the well-known Misa Criolla (Creole Mass). Composed by Ariel Ramirez in 1963 for a group of folkloric musical instruments, soloists, mixed choirs and piano, which is based on traditional folk rhythms from Argentina and Bolivia was composed to make it become a great popular liturgical expression, which is now often performed all around the world in several classical concert halls.
Alturas highly experienced in the authentic style of the Misa Criolla and making use of a fresh interpretation, have managed to reach a very special version, which they have sung in innumerable occasions at very important European venues together with Choirs of well-recognized international prestige. Recorded by Jose Carreras in 1988 he has acquired relevancy on a worldwide scale with a million copies sold.
The programme is complemented with a selection of choral works and popular pieces like "La flor de la canela", "Duerme Negrito", "Capullito de alelí" or "El mayoral".

Carnival in Marbella February 11 to 25

Carnival comes to the Costa del Sol town of Marbella from February 11 to 25, with a lot of colour and fun on the streets, the typical singing groups, competitions and festivals.
Marbella, one of the jewels of the Costa del Sol, is the perfect place for leisure and fun, offering since decades an excellent infrastructure for international "high standard" tourism. However, Marbella maintained its traditional festivals during which a large number of people take to the streets to enjoy fun-filled days, as for instance during Carnival.
There are not only are festivals, music, humour and parades, but also a good number of tastings of typical dishes in the street. If you are in Marbella or if you decide to travel to this city of the Costa del Sol in these days, go outside and have fun with the locals. The city has several costume shops if you fancy immerse yourself in the party and fun.

Traditional recipes in the 1st edition of Grandma´s Casserole in Fuengirola

For ten days we can enjoy in Fuengirola a new gastronomic proposal at popular prices. With the aim of promoting traditional Spanish recipes, has been organized the so-called Grandma´s Casserole (Cazuela de la Abuela) to be held from February 17 to 26 in the Costa del Sol city.
The common denominator of this event are the characteristics of these dishes, which are traditional soups or stews presented in clay casseroles. In this way, both visitors and locals can taste the typical dishes of the grandmothers for a very affordable price of 2 € which also includes a soft drink, beer or wine. You can recognize the restaurants participating in the event using the logo of a grandmother with her clay pot placed on the outside.
