Meeting of the best Spanish chefs at the Food and Sun in Marbella

The best Spanish chefs will meet in the second edition of the "Food & Sun Festival”, which will take place in the Hotel Gran Meliá Don Pepe in Marbella (Malaga), from 22nd to 24th of August.
After the success of last year, this event aims to establish itself as a "highly relevant" event in the agenda of the city and as a reference of culinary competitions.
The event, organized by the town hall of Marbella, will feature a gathering of recognized culinary artists, combining both traditional and avant-garde cuisine.
This year's novelty will be that Cuisine and Golf will join to bring together different sections of the public in the event 'Wine & Green', to be held on 23rd of August, as Marbella has the highest concentration of Golf courses in Andalusia.
In this edition of "Food & Sun Festival” will take place several events and activities that will appeal to the palates of the visitors, such as the Live Cooking, which will take place on Sunday, 22nd of August. Here some of the most famous chefs of Spain, such as Dani García, Jose Andres and Andrea Tumbarello, will guide from the stage of the terrace of the Hotel Gran Meliá Don Pepe the attendees who will cook their own dinner on the instructions of the professionals.
On Monday, August 23rd will be held the ‘Wine & Greens', where will take place a golf tournament with federal players, in order to combine a gastronomic event and sport, bringing together the best in the world of golf, wine and haute cuisine. Besides the golf course, attendees can savor white wines and sparkling wines of the most important wineries, and a cocktail offered by the three chefs awarded with a Michelin star in Marbella, such as the Calima Restaurant, among others.
Venus Beach will host the second competition of grilled fish: Tuesday, August 24 there will be an event that will have as protagonist the most traditional dish of the area, the Espeto (grilled sardines) and the traditional way of preparing it. Professional Espeteros will demonstrate their skills and traditions to be valued by a jury of renowned chefs and Espeteros of great tradition and reputation of the area. Once the finished the contest, the attendees will be invited to have some beers.
Dani Garcia is the chef of Calima restaurant in the Hotel Gran Meliá Don Pepe in Marbella. Dani Garcia, among other Spanish chefs, has experienced in recent years with molecular cuisine, a visually minimalist but scientifically and manually laborious kitchen using industrial ingredients and technology to renew the textures, cooking methods and presentations of traditional foods and dishes.
This creative chef has also designed the Gastrobar La Moraga in the new terminal of Malaga airport.
Regarding the restaurant Calima, this has a wonderful terrace facing the sea and also offers an elegant dining room with minimalist and modern decor with large windows. For those interested, the average price of the menu is approximately 90 Euros.
