The promenades of the seaside resorts of the Costa del Sol have a special characteristic charm: At the beach, both residents and visitors can enjoy early morning jogging, walks, restaurants and typical beach bars from where emerges a rich aroma of grilled sardines. The promenade is the place to stroll at sunset, enjoy the sea breeze without getting into the sand, to see and be seen.
Fuengirola has so far been the town with one of the longest promenades in Spain (7 km), which will now be overtaken by Marbella. This project has a total area of 17 km, linking Marbella, Puerto Banus and San Pedro. That is, you can now move around a good part of the coast of Marbella without using the car: From the centre of Marbella surrounded by hotels and restaurants, to quieter areas with beach bars, some of the most exclusive beach clubs in Europe as well as luxury resorts.
The promenade running along the coast of Marbella now links the port of La Bajadilla with the beach in San Pedro de Alcantara, surely good news for athletes and those who enjoy outdoor walks which thanks to the mild climate of the Costa del Sol can be practiced throughout the year. Enjoy!
