Cave of the Treasure

In Rincón de la Victoria there is one of three only marine caves known in the world and where according to a legend there is a hidden Moorish treasure from the 12nd century.

It was found in the past an oil lamp with gold coins inside, probably as a ritual before burying the treasure...it has been written about this treasure since the 17st century which caused a Swiss adventurer to try finding it with dynamite, making galleries and rows until he died because an uncontrolled explosion.

Is the treasure stil nside or someone took it in secret already? Who knows...

Opening time: From 10:45 to 17:15 in winter and 19:00 in summer.

Castle of Bezmiliana

This ancient fortress was built during the year 1766 as a defensive fortress against English and Dutch pirates. Inside of this castle the troops were garrisoned, they wanted to prevent the landing of invading pirates on the coast.

The town of Rincon de la Victoria began to form around the walls of this castle at the end of the 19th century.

Currently it is a cultural centre where works of Spanish artists are exhibited. There are also conferences and activities organized throughout the year.

This castle is the most representative monument of Rincon de la Victoria.

Cala del Moral

Small and popular fishing village in summer due to the close location to the beach. There are many restaurants and bars in the area and a bus linking Cala del Moral with Rincon de la Victoria every 20 minutes.

If arriving by car it is very easy to get there, just follow the A-7 highway and take the 'Cala del Moral' exit road.

El Cantal Watchtower

Watch towers were built during the Arabian age and were used for defending the coast against the pirate attacks. There is a viewpoint from this tower with amazing views from the coast of the Rincon de la Victoria.
